Nathan Mills, the driving force behind Oceata, brings over 30 years of maritime experience to our team. From Cadet to Captain, Nathan’s career on the seven seas is a testament to his dedication and expertise. His extensive background includes:

Nathan’s journey from deep-sea Master Mariner to establishing his own maritime consultancy, Nathan Mills Marine, highlights his deep understanding of the industry. Since coming ashore in 2016, Nathan has built a successful consultancy, serving major P&I Clubs and maritime law firms with his detailed and logical approach to maritime matters.
As a supporting member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), Nathan continues to influence the industry with his knowledge and experience.
Derren Nugent
Derren heads up the Group IT function and the development of all systems within the offerings of Oceata.
With a keen eye for detail and an extensive knowledge coding complex systems, he homes in on a unique skill set that includes the real-time extraction of data from multiple sources, to auto-reformatting of the same and producing reports that are understandable by all.
Fundamentally, his abilities ensure Oceata remains at the forefront of both technology and evolving regulation with seamless ease and precision.
Simon Jenkins
Simon Jenkins is an experienced engineer who heads up the Fuel Management Department which includes fuel computations and emissions reporting. Simon developed Oceata’s suite of emissions monitoring and reporting tools, which includes EU ETS, CII, EEOI, EEXI, and EEDI. Simon works closely with our Technology Department incorporating and delivering the latest green maritime requirements into Oceata’s software to ensure our fuel services are current.
Dylan Williams
Dylan has a Masters in Artificial Intelligence from Southampton University and is responsible for leading the Machine Learning team at Oceata. Dylan leads the design, development, and testing of all our Machine Learning models, as well as overseeing the continuous development of our groundbreaking Optimal Vessel Routing software (OVR).
